GOP hope via Rove

Before you count the legendary Rove out, he brought some very interesting statistics to the table after Tuesday's "thumpin'"
Rove is famous for his political statistics, and his team has come up with an array of figures to contend that the Republicans' loss of 29 seats in the House and six in the Senate is not so out of whack with the historic norms. In all sixth year midterms, the President's party has lost an average of 29 House seats and 3 Senate seats, according to these figures. In all sixth-year midterms since World War II, the loss was an average of 31 House and 6 Senate seats. And in all wartime midterms since 1860, the average loss was 32 House and 5 Senate seat.

and
the party has calculated that the winner received 51 percent or less in 35 contests, and that 23 races were decided by two percentage points or fewer, 18 races were decided by fewer than 5,000 votes, 15 races were decided by fewer than 4,000 votes, 10 races were decided by fewer than 3,000 votes, eight were decided by fewer than 2,000 votes and five races were decided by fewer than 1,000 votes.

Hill won by a couple in Indiana's 9th while Carson by a few thousand in the 7th. Look at Webb beating Allen. So my little elephants, if you want it, you gotta earn it. And give the Democrats enough slack, let the hard Left think this is their Congress and Senate. Entitlement is not only a theme of the Democrats, it is their undoing. (This is the part where I give my sinister laugh as I roast children on an open fire. I got the recipe Karl Rove himself.)

Another Drudge Gem

I watched this and it makes you believe in Hollywood again:
The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained an exclusive copy of a "scary" campaign advertisement created by Hollywood producer and director David Zucker that was intended to be used by GOP organizations in the closing weeks of the 2006 campaign.

However, the advertisement was deemed "too hot" by GOP strategists all across Washington, DC who have refused to use it!

How about this do describe the bar

Mickey's Irish Pub from intakeweekly.com
Overall: Mickey's is the mullet of pubs: All business in the front with its classic wood-and-brass bar area, and all party in the back's super-spacious annex

How about this description of a bar? Funny part it's true. If you're ever on the northside of Indy, my-in-laws own this place and I've worked there off and on since 92, go there. The food is good, the staff is friendly(can be rude if the girls are pissed for some reason) and the regulars oustanding. In the era of strip malls and subdivisions, it's as close to a neighborhood bar as you can get.

What Men Want

The first is Jennifer Love Hewit laying on Soldier Field. This is your typical sex-bomb. Not gonna fib, she ain't hard on the eyes. Plus she is laying on the turf of the Mecca of football. I must make my hajj.

This is Dr. Libby Haight O'Connell, she is the Chief Historian for the History Channel. If you have watched any of the brilliant special on the American Revolution she has brought the words "sexy" and "smart" to a level not seen recent memory.
Before certain forces, forbin or shew, can get this to my wife, let me say this. I am blessed to be married to a woman whose eyes and smile create a perfect beauty not seen since da Vinci was working and breathing. I still lose my train of thought when I see her everyday, thus she thinks I cannot not multitask. It's not that, my virtual memory gets chewed and nothing else processes. She is a damn good nurse with a sharp wit and savvy business sense, I am out of my league to be with her. Plus she is loving mother of three children destined for something for the ages.

Map of SW Asia

One of my favorite websites is RealClearPolitics.com. A collection of various op-eds, news items and assorted wonk prizes. I read an article from the ArmedForcesJournal.com on Middle East borders.
As we know, the Euros carved up and created the national borders of the Mid East and Africa, love Rwanda. Whether they were drunk, bored or self amused, we are paying the price today along with the current residents. The article creates new borders with brillant and short descriptions why. I really recommend you read this and learn a little.

Blood borders
How a better Middle East would look
By Ralph Peters
International borders are never completely just. But the degree of injustice they inflict upon those whom frontiers force together or separate makes an enormous difference — often the difference between freedom and oppression, tolerance and atrocity, the rule of law and terrorism, or even peace and war.

The most arbitrary and distorted borders in the world are in Africa and the Middle East. Drawn by self-interested Europeans (who have had sufficient trouble defining their own frontiers), Africa's borders continue to provoke the deaths of millions of local inhabitants. But the unjust borders in the Middle East — to borrow from Churchill — generate more trouble than can be consumed locally.

While the Middle East has far more problems than dysfunctional borders alone — from cultural stagnation through scandalous inequality to deadly religious extremism — the greatest taboo in striving to understand the region's comprehensive failure isn't Islam but the awful-but-sacrosanct international boundaries worshipped by our own diplomats.

and I love this
Correcting borders to reflect the will of the people may be impossible. For now. But given time — and the inevitable attendant bloodshed — new and natural borders will emerge. Babylon has fallen more than once.

somebody won, old school

the grey haired guy won american idol. Life goes on. What bugs the piss outta me is a statement made by ryan seacrest,
More than 63 million votes were cast, “more than any president in the history of our country has received,” Seacrest said.

Correct me if I am wrong, but can't you vote more than once? Reminds me of the old saying in the days of political machines, "Vote early and often!" Heck, my grandfather has been dead for over thirteen years and he probably voted for a daly in the last election again in Chicago. And don't get me wrong, judging by the democratic opposition of the Voter ID Law, they wouldn't mind that in the 06 elections. Sam Giacana did it for JFK in 1960 Chicago.
In 1960 Giancana was involved in talks with Allen W. Dulles, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), about the possibility of murdering Fidel Castro. It is claimed that during the 1960 presidential election Giancana used his influence in Illinois to help John F. Kennedy defeat Richard Nixon. The two men, at that time, shared the same girlfriend, Judith Campbell Exner.

That was in the First Ward to help JFK.

dean does not believe in the urban poor ... or

I believe Howard Dean is a liberal racist in denial. In the Indy Star he wishes the Indiana Voter ID Law would be repealed. Why?
Dean said the law imposes a burden on people to obtain the documents such as
birth certificates needed to get a photo ID.

So I am correct to believe people are smart enough to vote democrat in his eyes, but incapable of acquiring an ID. Better yet, he does not believe urban people, que the "disenfranchisement" rhetoric, are intelligent or responsible enough to keep an ID. This racist rhetoric of the left/democratic party is tragic beyond scope. Am I to believe the mighty democrats who brought the Civil Rights Act of 1964, only because LBJ had to give initial credit to a Republican Senator, thinks Blacks are lazy and cattle to be herded to the polls.
Yes

Rolling Stone covers of 1986

Every time I think of Heuy Lewis, I think of the a grisly scene from the wonderfully disturbing American Pyscho
Patrick Bateman: Do you like Huey Lewis and the news?
Paul Allen: They're OK.
Patrick Bateman: Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83,I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consimante professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour.
Paul Allen: Hey Halberstram.
Patrick Bateman: Yes, Allen?
Paul Allen: Why are their copies of the style section all over the place, d-do you have a dog? A little chow or something?
Patrick Bateman: No, Allen.
Paul Allen: Is that a rain coat?
Patrick Bateman: Yes it is! In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
[raises axe above head]
Patrick Bateman: Hey Paul!
[he bashes Allen in the head with the axe, and blood splatters over him]
Patrick Bateman: TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARD! YOU, FUCKING BASTARD!

reuters v cnn

Look at the difference between the two stories of the rally in New Orleans for the upcoming election. The major players there are Jackson, Sharpton and Cosby.
First look at the story by CNN:

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (AP) -- Hundreds of protesters led by the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton rallied Saturday, saying the city's election plans will disenfranchise voters displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

The system of mail-in voting set up for the April 22 election for mayor and other positions in the largely black city will make it difficult for voters living elsewhere to cast a ballot, Jackson and other activists said.

"We want the Voting Rights Act," Jackson said at a news conference before the rally. Black leaders have argued city elections could violate the landmark 1965 law designed to ensure voter equality.

The city election could have a broad effect nationwide, Sharpton said: "What happens in New Orleans will affect voting rights all over the United States."

Then the version by Reuters

Bill Cosby tells New Orleans blacks to reject crime
By Russell McCulley

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - Entertainer Bill Cosby urged New Orleans' black population on Saturday to cleanse itself of a culture of crime as it rebuilds from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina last year.

Cosby, whose criticism of some aspects of modern African-American culture has stirred controversy in recent years, told a rally headed by black leaders that the city needed to look at the "wound" it had before Katrina struck.

"It's painful, but we can't cleanse ourselves unless we look at the wound," Cosby told the rally of about 2,000 people in front of the city's convention center.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you had the highest murder rate, unto each other. You were dealing drugs to each other. You were impregnating our 13-, 12-, 11-year-old children," he said.

"What kind of a village is that?"

Of course I'll go with Cosby because he is actually progressive and seeks a change to improve the African American life in the US. He may scold people, but he has made his bones. No disrespect to either Jackson or Sharpton, they take care of that on thier own, but they would rather complain that tell it like it is or needs to be done in the real world.

But I'll really support you if you approve of the Voter ID Act. Not only was this one of the most corrupt states in politics, but now a chance to manipulate the votes. What if someone votes who has no desire to move back, that is a disinfranchisement of the those laft behind or are eager new residents.

don't you love ignorance? If you really believe in your heart that Bush is a nazi, then you should read a book. Read something on the policies of the Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Hussian, Mao, Castro ... if you still think Bush is this evil then. You might as well get off the planet because you offer nothing productive to the human race. Really, you offer nothing to help me or anyone else make this a better planet.

Pie

Since my boy was born, I have looked foward to my favorite spring activity with a newborn, not eating them as my students my swear. But placing one of my baby sized kids on my chest and falling asleep wwatching Cubs games. Yes CPS may come to my house for allowing my children to grow up Cubs fans, but at least they will never like the pack.
Looking at the Sun Times this morning, the Cubs have another "prospect." A kid names named Felix Pie. Comments made:
Cubs veteran Juan Pierre has seen enough of Pie, 21.
''If he was 30 years old, I would still be impressed,'' said Pierre, whose
contract expires after this season, meaning he might be keeping a spot warm in
center field for Pie. ''He's just one of those kids who has that instinct.
Everybody sees it and knows he is going to be special. It's just a matter of him
being consistent and being able to bring those five tools to the game every
night. And he can. He will be a superstar in the league.''
Pie (pronounced
Pee-ay) is the future for the Cubs. He has speed, he has power, he can hit for
average, he can field his position and he has an arm that makes grizzled
baseball men such as Von Joshua drop their jaws in disbelief.

And from Bill Mitchell's Minor League Report:
At 6-2 and 165 pounds, Pie's body will undoubtedly fill out as he matures.
Martinez concurred, stating, "He's a very strong kid. He looks thin, but I know
he's going to put on 10 to 20 pounds and he's going to still run."
Natural skills, good baseball instincts, self-confidence, physical ability ... Pie has
all of the necessary skills. Yet, this wise, five-tool talent knows what he
needs to do to continue his success in baseball.

Now if the Invalid Twins could stay healthy, we could make a run.

Well, Hell just picked up another resident. I hope satan has a healthy lesson plan for him. But tragically, he seemed to be an agent of the evil one. I like this description of the tyrant, thanks to of all places, rotten.com :
One of these little Hitlers had the funny name of Slobodan Milosevic, which
seems like it ought to be a vaudevillian evil landlord. In actuality, he was
indeed an evil landlord; he just wasn't very funny. (But then, neither was
vaudeville.)

are you friggin kidding me?

Reality is slipping rapidily for the left. Lawerence O'Donnell is a blithering idiot when he implies Cheney was drunk. Boy, MSNBC sure knows how to pick'em. No wonder they are dead last in the ratings for the cable news camps:

The L.A. Times is edging closer to the most likely reason for the 18 hour delay
in reporting that the Vice President of the United States shot someone:

"This was a hunting accident," said Gilbert San Miguel, chief deputy of
the Kenedy County Sheriff's Office. "There was no alcohol or misconduct."

How do we know there was no alcohol? Cheney refused to talk to local
authorities until the next day. No point in giving him a breathalyzer then.
Every lawyer I've talked to assumes Cheney was too drunk to talk to the cops
after the shooting. The next question for the White House should be: Was
Cheney drunk?

I have never gone hunting with ultra-rich Republicans on a
Saturday afternoon, but I have seen them tailgating at Ivy League
football games, so it's hard for me to believe that any of their Saturday
lunches are alcohol free.

As opposed to ultra-rich democrats who drive women into the water and drown them when they are drunk.
By the way, how's West Wing doing?

Quality

I don't what is more embarrassing, VP Cheney the triggerman or Gregory of NBC sounding like a teenage school girl in heat. When you actually watch the video for the first time, it throws you off. These hacks are professional journalists, not some sixth grader upset about no recess. Listening to the batch of agenda driven baboons really makes look at the news given to us by the Big Three. Frankly, Crondike's "That the way it is" and the NYT "News that fit to print" lines seem like old USSR Pravda propaganda. Here's the classic clip with a link.
I watch Gregory on MSNBC and different news shows, but Christ, who gave this sanctimonious prick the privilege to report to you the truth if he can't stay objective on a hunting accident. Mad props to Expose the Left for the clip. I can't tell if the guy in the background is in love with him or wondering if the meds ran out.

Hitch winning friends

This charming piece about a Hitchens encounter speaks in volumes. For an atheist, he makes me laugh. Plus he offers a unique way to put up with the anit-war/anti Bush hacks. From the NY Daily News:
Hitchens is eager to Iraq 'n' roll
Leave it to pro-war pundit Christopher Hitchens to rile up a crowd of New York liberals.
The catcalls started almost from the moment the prickly Brit began defending the Iraq adventure during Wednesday night's squabble at the Ethical Culture Society.
"Make zoo noises!" Hitchens taunted. "Bear in mind, if you had been listened to, Bosnia would part of greater Serbia, Afghanistan would be run by the Taliban, and Saddam Hussein would still be in charge of Iraq."
For good measure, he added: "British intelligence was quite right to say that Saddam Hussein was seeking uranium in Niger. That you can look up."
To which a peacenik screamed: "F- you!"
"Shut up," Hitchens retorted. "You're rude and silly. And ugly."
Afterward, a deeply satisfied Hitchens smoked a cigarette. "I know how to hurt their feelings because I know what they're going through. ... I have a real relish for inflicting pain on them."

Dead Sexy, Dead Career

Tipping Point

The riots of Muslim extremists in Europe, throw in the attacks on Denmark's and Norway's embassies, could be the tipping point for Europe. If there are deaths related to these protests, the Euros could freak out and start passing various legislation to curtail Muslim rights.
How? Different building codes for mosques to limits on gathering in public. If they further this with travelling restrictions and then some questionable wiretaps, sounds like a little Jim Crow with Hoover's old FBI.
But common sense would dictate the Euros sould be safer. All the cameras the British have placed on every street corner in London caught thier bombers. But the open borders are quite the quandry.
Van Gogh's kin who was stabbed to death with the note though the knife into his chest. The fall riots in Paris. Look to the Spanish Inquistion, the pograms and of course the Holocaust, and Europe's religious sensitivity is quite historic. Beware Muslims, they are really not that warm and fuzzy.
Here are the cartoons that this ruckus was started by from WorldNetDaily:

Although this is one nutjob, the attack on the freedom of speech by these facists is summed by this party guy:

So in the end, are the Euros allowed to attack the Muslim extremists with legal discrimination? Or do they wait for all hell to really break loose? Are the basic rights brough forth by Locke and enhanced by Jefferson to be cemented in law?
This is going to be more fun than an outted politico to watch.

Carson's possible competition

Recently I wrote that Rep Carson will have little, actually no competition in the upcoming election for her district. The "Queen", dubbed by Marion County Sheriff Frank Anderson who is a good man, may have a couple GOPers after her.
Matthew Tully from the Star this Sunday has mentioned two possible candidates, former City-County Councilman Ron Franklin or Eric Dickerson, a local businessman not the upright running back. Dickerson does own a car dealership, which gives the moral equivalence of most of the members of either House on the Hill. No I take that back, it may give him more scruples than the majority of the Beltway residents, including the press.
One tidbit, they are both black. This would break the past strategy of the recent cannon fodder sent to their political demise by the GOP. Another tidbit in relation to Franklin:

This has some people buzzing, because Franklin last made news in 2001, when he
pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal recklessness, related to his
firing a handgun in public.

I find nothing wrong with this, unless you are on the wrong end of gravity. This actually led to the death of several residents of Kuwait at the end of the First Gulf War. This culturally insensitive charge clearly is a slam towards the freedom of expression shown in the recent Hamas victory.
Stay tuned kiddies, this could get fun

Cindy Sheehan Considering Senate Run
Saturday, January 28, 2006

CARACAS, Venezuela - Cindy Sheehan, the peace
activist who set up camp near President Bush's Texas ranch last summer, said
Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein to
protest what she called the California lawmaker's support for the war in Iraq.
"She voted for the war. She
continues to vote for the funding. She won't call for an immediate withdrawal of
the troops," Sheehan told The Associated Press in an interview while attending
the World Social
Forum
in Venezuela along with thousands of other anti-war and
anti-globalization activists.

I can see how this unfolds
  • Cindy gets her signatures, there are that many naive people in Cali
  • Cindy runs a "grassroots" campaign with the integrity rich support of leaders from Venezuela and Cuba.
  • Cindy gets her tail handed to her in the primaries, Feistein says "It was a noble effort, but the more sane moonbats voted for me."
  • Cindy runs on a Socialist ticket
  • Cindy gets a few votes on election, says the system is flawed. Finally has the month long couch trip she had needed before being exploited by the media, the left and anyone else with no shame

Better Written Than I

There has been quite a bit written by the a journalist of question named joel stein. He wrote a rather inflammatory piece calling out our troops and his lack of support for thier courage. I'm not going to call him names or belittle as much as he has done upon himself already, I've seen more mature articles written from confiscated notes in my classroom. But I read the great and wise Ben Stein's piece from the American Spectator, compliments of my morning read. Here is a profound summary that echos the sentiment of the vast majority of Americans.
Do I support men and women who are fighting Nazis who call themselves insurgents
or Islamic militants? Do I support men and women who offer up their lives to
fight the very same terrorists who killed three thousand totally guiltless
Americans on 9/11? Do I support the troops who have more moral decency in their
toes than I do or anyone I know does in our whole bodies? I support them, pray
for them, am humbled just to be on the same planet with them. With every morning
I wake up, every meal I eat, every walk I take in freedom, every night I sleep
in peace, I ask God to look after the men and women who guard the ramparts of
this blessed island of peace and decency called America. Without them, we would
be nothing. Without them, Joel Stein would have his head sawed off. Saints in
armor is what I call them and what they are. They are God's gifts to a wayward
world.

I now have a link to his website.
