My original blog after it has been cleaned up a bit. Not that this groundbreaking work, but I found some old posts, photos and clips that I may reuse.

Of Course Not, You Might Be Accountable For Your Word
I have always preferred not to run for public office, and I still prefer
not to run for public office. ... I believe if a private citizen is able to
affect public opinion, he doesn't have to be an elected public servant to
perform a public service," the longtime heartthrob said-Warren Beatty on running for gov.

Don't Drink the Kool-Aid
- the Cindy Sheenhan Show - her current episode, and mean that clinically, has her wanting Bush to pull the troops out of New Orleans! The Rosa Parks of the anti-War Movement may swiftly be Jim Jones. When the leader of your movement shows signs of clear pyschosis, people will run the other way, fast. Hence why no real canidate for 08 stood next to her.
- the Taken for Granted African American Vote - this actually has two parts. First is the trend of church leaders throughout the nation finding common identity with platforms of the GOP, Abortion, Homosexuality and school choice. Second is how much help really hits the people of New Orleans. If a satisfactory, satisfactory, amount hits the area, the Republicans have scored huge.
- No Message in the Demos - what is their stance, afraid to challenge Iraq, no really cures for the economy, they would only raise taxes. Even if they talk tough, see Sen. Clinton or Biden, people see though them. Eventually their past will come back to haunt them, Biden looked like an ass going after Roberts.
- The Next Supreme Court Nomination - Bush will select either a minority or woman on this one. I like Janice Brown. She hits both. If the Democrats attack her in public like Roberts, they can alienate thousands because she came from poverty, is black and obviously, a woman.
The best shot the Democrats have is making sure Obama of Illinois doesn't wake up one morning with a dead hooker or a boy. Or pray the republicans really screw the pooch.

Remember ...
No one said it was going to be easy, no one said it would be quick, no one said it wouldn't be painful, but we are going to win. Any American who said differently, should abide from the old saying of child rearing, "Seen and not heard." In our Microwave Era, we have lost the natioanl ability to focus. The task is not over until it is completed, and we may have to multitask. It is very possible and required. As long as the politicians of every party remember what is really important, surivial.
Origins of the "Scream"
For the longest time I could not figure out where I had heard the infamous"Scream" of DNC chair Howard "I-have-street-cred-because-I'm-from-Vermont" Dean. Maybe I'm not the first, or missed it on the Daily Show, but it sounds exactly like Bill Murray in the mud wrestling scene of Stripes. As the late great John Candy's character is turnning the tide of the battle, with muddy strippers, Murray lets out a very very similar battle cry. Watch Stripes because it ranks as on of the funniest movies ever and watch it for the battle cry/scream.

Code of Ethics and Government Service
Adopted July 11, 1958, still in place
I. Put loyalty to the highest moral principles and to our country above loyalty to persons, party, or Government department
II. Uphold the Constitution, laws, and regulations of the United States and of all governments therein and never be a party to their evasion.
III. Give a full day’s labor for a full day’s pay, giving earnest effort and best thought to performances of duties.
IV. Seek to find and employ more efficient and economical ways of getting tasks accomplished.
V. Never discriminate unfairly by the dispensing of special favors or privileges to anyone, whether for remuneration or not; and never accept, for himself or herself or family members, favors or benefits under circumstances which might be construed by reasonable person as influencing the performance of public duty.
VI. Make no private promise of any kind binding upon the duties of the office, since a Government employee has no private word which can be binding on public duty
VII. Engage in no business with the Government, either directly or indirectly, which is inconsistent with the conscientious performance of government duties.
VIII. Never use any information gained confidentially I the performance of government duties as a means of making private profit.
IX. Expose corruption wherever it is discovered.
X. Uphold these principles, ever conscious that public office is public trust.

What Many Should be Saying
A New Low for the MSM?
The mainstream media's handling of
Hurricane Katrina and the disasters in New Orleans is a disgrace, possibly the
worst instance yet of media bias. Insane claims by left-wing nuts that President
Bush botched the recovery effort on purpose so as to kill black people are
repeated by the MSM in a chin-stroking mode, as if to say, "It's an interesting
question--they might be on to something." Meanwhile, no one points out that it
was President Bush who implored Governor Blanco to issue a first-ever mandatory
evacuation order for the city, an action by the President that probably saved
tens of thousands of lives.
Similarly, the media yammmer on and on about the
allegedly slow federal response to the hurricane, without noting that the
Governor of Louisiana has the power to call out the National Guard. Accusations
that lawlessness and looting in New Orleans are somehow the federal government's
fault are repeated endlessly; hardly anyone bothers to criticize the looters and
other criminals themselves. And where is the outrage that should be directed
toward the New Orleans Police Department? They were the authorities on the
scene, and they, under the direction of the city's Mayor--who had an emergency
plan in place, but apparently made no attempt to implement it--had the
responsibility to maintain law and order. Yet some policemen reportedly joined
in the looting, while a great many others turned tail and abandoned their
responsibilities.
-from powerline.com, they are dead on. Remember these are the guys who took down Dan Rather and the flaws on the GW National Guard report.
Vindicated
Trivia: In 1991, Kissinger made three appearances on national television - as a
weather reporter.
thanks to ancedote.com to support me.
While I was a Ball State, I tended to enjoy a beverage now and then. As a result, 1987-92 and a few more years afterwards of running amuck, are rather blurry. I say in a funny way when I return to BSU homecomings, "A thousand memories I don't remember."
Back to the subject at hand, I remember one blurry morning waking up and seeing Kissenger doing the weather. In his thick accent describe fronts and weather patterns seemed a surreal hangover result. But it was clear enough I swore it happened. Not one person I knew saw this. While getting my educational methods classes, professors I talked in the political science department at IUPUI denied it. Today, 14 years after the event, I was right.

More About Reactions
But my underlining point, which was also pointed out by columnist Kathleen Parker, we want to blame someone; someone has to pay. It would take a moron to see the rescue effort has been less than perfect. Hopefully with the arrival of the military we can first rescue the people still stranded. Out of respect to those who are risking thier lives, not hiding behind a desk, or a microphone, or a computer, give them room to get it done.
I'm trying to figure out why we won't be able to rescue the 2000 people in the Superdome, I have 9:18 central, saturday. But there are superman-like people down there to save them, pray for'em.
Another reminder to Chris Matthews of Hardball, it is Minute Maid Park, once Enron Field, and the Astrodome is no longer home of the Astros.

Thoughts From Up North
I watched Lisa Daniels of MSNBC this afternoon screaming for someone to blame. Why has the media not been so tough on the looters? Liberal racism, the "Its okay, they're poor, a minority and angry, we'll take care you and eliminate any responsiblilty" mentality. Much like you see the media not attacking the invaders of Iraq, not US troops, but terrorists from other countries fighting to prevent freedom. Tragically none of those concepts fits thier mistaken and selfish agenda of the Left. Once the sitiuation is resolved, or in more secure direction, then go after the administration.
